About:

Liquid emulsion hand-printed on glass

This work was born as a site-specific project for the 900th anniversary of St. Mary's Church in Merton, London. I have been invited to produce new work for an exhibition in that church and I was inspired by its stained glass windows that depict saints and martyrs. After that show, the work has evolved into new territories. Through the projection of a small light, the pictures affect the space they are in, changing the way they are experienced and perceived. They become big negatives and resonate, remind and resemble the making of photography itself.
