fucking land art

The land art movement through a queer(ing) perspective. A speculative fiction piece where some artists and artworks belonging to this art movement are re-told imagining different outcomes, actions or utopic possibilities, from Michael Heizer's holes in the ground in the Californian Mojave Desert, to Richard Long's straight line in the English countryside, these historical famous artwors are re-imagined, queered, mocked or reclaimed.

This video was inspired by a creative writing piece I have written while investigating land art for my PhD. The writing piece is longer and includes parts dedicated to Ana Mendieta, Ugo Rondinone, a sea full of plastic and birds possessing/destroying/transforming a human body into a magical bird; this video instead comprises short extracts of the text narrated as an audio piece, with images shot in the Tabernas Desert in Spain and in forests and countryside locations in the UK.
